I [insert your web 2.0 tool here], therefore I am?

This is the first time I've seen an entry like this, but I bet it is said often, and I bet the sentiment is stunningly pervasive, even if not expressed:

"no internet @ home since yesterday! How can I manage?I'm tired & concerned...so much to catch up with 2day.Feels like I didnt exist yesterday"

Don't know what to make of it, though. Is thinking out loud via social networking the new cogito? What does this mean for the future of epistemology?

Classroom = White House?

Bill Burton, Obama's IT go-to guy, laments that going from the campaign trail to the White House was "kind of like going from an Xbox to an Atari".  Windows XP, no WiFi, etc.

That should give us a taste, IMHO, of how students feel when they walk from their dorm/home/etc. to the classroom.

Who knew the "F" word was F2F?

Coming to the DSM-V in 2012....

Do you think they'll call it Virtual Reality Dissociative Disorder? Internet addiction sounds too mundane. Anyway, the Chinese have started what will no doubt hit the next DSM......

Tired of the official SL Browser?

Thanks to @torley for the list of "unofficial" SL browsers. I've tried the Onrez browser, now I have a few to toy with!

Whitehouse 2.0

You have to love that the Obama coders lost no time in getting up a jazzed-up presidential website, complete with blog and soon...a YouTube Channel!

Can't wait to see how the Office of Public Liaison wields the power of Web 2.0....

Have I Mentioned That I LOVE Camille Paglia?

I have been reading Paglia since grad school, when she was lambasting the MLA, both in speech and in articles. I just about choked on my water while reading her piece at salon.com today. She is speaking about the absurdity of some of Dick Cavett's criticism of Sarah Palin's speech habits, and expanding that to the treatment she received from what she describes as the "bunch of tittering lemmings the urban elite have become", when out of nowhere she decides to have a field day with Katie Couric! Priceless.

What a great Friday morning!

And you all realize that I'm NOT a morning person, right? I have just been introduced to the glory that is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, and now I'm bummed that I have to wait to get my next fix!

Skype SL into a teleconference?

Being a MacUser, I just got this from Skype. Wondering if anyone has tried it out. Usually, if you want to pipe SL into a meeting/presentation, you had someone actually USE SL to do that. Now, it looks like maybe Skype will do it for you with screen sharing capability. I'm just wondering how good it will look....

WOW...Talk about bringing back memories! Check, Please!

Lisa sent me the "lost" Obama sortie on "Check, Please!", about the only show I watched while living in Chicagoland! I had completely forgotten what a hoot it was to watch Amanda Puck come out in those crazy hairdos, and to hear some good reviews on restaurants that my wife and I would then go and try out during the week. A classic must-see 2 minutes...but it looks like WTTW is going to put up the entire 30 minutes of the lost Obama show soon....stay tuned....

Uh-oh....

Twitter is apparently not so twitterific today....
